Check this out, a tour of classic Film Noir locations in San Fransisco then and today, this is a very fun and iconic movie locations, many of them well-preserved. It is easy to forget that in the days before VFX filmmakers just had iconic locations, studio sets, and occasionally matte paintings to go on. Also, San Francisco seems to be better preserved for classic film locations than Los Angeles (at least to me), though you can still find some of those classic spots in LA if you look hard enough.
